Well, it looks like the Alberta Human Rights Commission is no longer "pay[ing] heed" to the limits imposed by the law. Unfortunate — but not surprising. The bigots in Canada's human rights industry justify their censorship by referring to that very Supreme Court decision, claiming that it empowers them to ban websites and issue lifetime gag orders -- our 21st century version of a good old-fashioned Nazi book-burning. As Volokh points out, they're lying -- the SCC did not give them that power. Canada's HRCs are issuing baldly unconstitutional orders. They're bullies. They're counterfeit courts. They are bringing the law into disrepute. But that suits Alberta's premier, Ed "Ed" Stelmach, just fine. As I mentioned before, he even sent in a special lawyer from the Department of Justice to intervene against Rev. Boissoin. Why not let the premier know what you think of his unconstitutional, anti-Christian bigotry? E-mail him here. But be careful -- if you hurt his feelings, he might give you a lifetime gag order, too.
