When it comes to being a culture changer, the question is are you a
trend setter or a trend follower? If you are a Christ centred trend
setter, the world will have far less impact on you.
Who did Jesus surround himself with? Did He become like them, or they
like Him? Did the apostles become like those they ministered to or did
those they ministered to become like them?
How can we be trend setters?
- By seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
- Being salt and light - flavouring the world instead of the world
flavouring us, being a light in the darkness instead of allowing our
light to be quenched by the darkness
- Being not conformed to this world, but being transformed by the
renewing of our minds (through the Word and by His Spirit).
- Worshipping the father in spirit and truth
- Trusting the Lord with all our heart, leaning not on our own
understanding, in all our ways, acknowledging Him and He will make
straight our path
- Testing all things (by the Word of God and by His spirit) and
holding fast to that which is good
- Walking by faith and not by sight, because without faith we
cannot please God
- Putting on the new man, who according to God was created in
righteousness and true holiness
- Pursuing peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall
see the Lord
If we do all of this, what will it look like? The great commission -
"Go out into ALL the world (including every area of society) and preach
the good news to ALL creation."
In the process how will we treat the bretheren? Praying for one
another, encouraging, uplifting, admonishing, reproving, rebuking, and
sharpening one another in the unity of love and in the faith.
God Bless you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth
